Absolutely love this place and always have. Have been getting pizza from here since it was Pizza Factory way back when. One of the top pizza places in the area without a doubt and always has been. I moved away almost 20 years ago but am not joking when I say that nearly every time I visit home we end up getting pizza here which is no small feat since I get home 2 or 3 times a year. Part of the allure - besides the obvious fact that their pizza is outstanding - is it's close to my parents house even in it's new location. Part of it is that where I live now the best pizza is Pizza Hut which is our sad pizza reality so we rarely get it. Part of it is to me it's comfort food that reminds me of my childhood Friday nights with 3 TV trays lined up in front of the television flanked by mom and dad's recliners, Dukes of Hazard, The Hulk, Magnum PI, or Greatest American Hero going on the tube, and a big brown pizza box with a Dr Seuss like cartoon picture of a gigantic complicated machine spitting out pizzas ready to be torn in to!

I had wanted to try this place for a while. I decided on the lunch buffet. I was a little skeptical after experiencing other buffets that lower the quality. I was pleasantly surprised. All the pizzas except the taco were thin crust. I love thin crust. The variety at least 9 out at a time. Lots of good quality cheese. I loved the sauce but it was just a tad heavy since the cheese and toppings on a few slices slid right off onto my shirt or the edge of the plate. The salad bar was fresh and veggies all cut to we'll proportioned pieces. I would recommend this place to friends and family.

Just a few tips---they make their sausage on premises daily and it is a good addition to the pizza. They also have sauerkraut as a topping choice. They have personal sized pizzas and could easily feed two light eaters or if you are adding a salad to your meal. I would recommend asking for your pizza to be cooked a little extra longer and it is actually perfect. This is not a froo froo gourmet pizza place so no spinach --basil---fancy toppings---prices are fair and pizza was old-school decent...nice crispy crust that was not too thin and not bready either.

Amazing pizza. We never went to the old location since we're newer to IGH.....but this place did not disappoint. We got a pepperoni, mushroom, and black olive pizza, well done. Nothing is worse than an undercooked, lukewarm pizza. It was fantastic. Well done but not burned, cheesy - not greasy. The slices were cut in squares rather than triangles, which we kinda liked(apparently this is a midwest thing? I'm from the PNW)! Pizza was done earlier than they said it would be so when I showed up early it had just come out piping hot. We will be back!

This is our 2nd experience at this restaurant. First time was so bad that all we could do was laugh. 1st experience highlights. Ordered 2 pizzas. Asked to not put green peppers on the pizza. Pizzas arrived, lots of green peppers. 40 minutes later, the waitress stopped by and said the 2nd pizza did not get made . So now 1 hour and 20 minutes into the evening we finally got our pizza. They burned the pizza. Still really could not eat it.They were very sorry that it occurred. They did not charge us for either of the pizzas. That was nice . Now for tonight. We ordered a normal non speciality pizza. 5 minutes later several other people came in and sat down. Then they ordered a few minutes after that. They all received their pizzas 10 minutes before ours arrived. The waitress only appeared once toward the end of the meal. I told her I guess it was to late to bring my beverage and to just take it off the bill. When the bill came they had taken off $10.00 and not charged is for one of the sodas. Again, that was nice. Now, paying the bill. He ran my credit card for $36.14 for a $9.48 bill. It took 2 of them to figure out how to credit my card. Not sure if they really did or not. Will check as week goes on. Bottom line. Good pizza, not the best I have had. Service is very poor. Waitress said "B" team was in the kitchen. If "B" team is cooking, then the bench warmers are serving and ringing up orders. Ensure you have a lot of time if you plan on eating here.

Loads of cheese on all the lunch buffet pizzas. All of the pizzas on the lunch buffet were thin crust. The Canadian bacon / pineapple was great. Yes, as others have said, their sausage is good, but I found the sausage pizzas to be a little too greasy for my liking.

Without a doubt, the BEST pizza in the Twin Cities! I just moved here from out of state and trust me, this place rocks big time !!!!!

Great tasting Pizza, very generous with the toppings. I always order (To Go), because I live so close. I like to catch it right out of the oven. They also always send out $2.00 coupons in the mail so I take advantage of that. I do how ever always receive poor service when I eat in. ALWAYS have to flag down a waitress, over, and over, and over! I think I waited over 20 minutes to get my bill last time. Next time I go there, I will have exact change and probably wont include a tip!

This place is way over rated. Pre made cardboard tasting pizza crusts. Awful sauce, can't even tell what's on the pizza .., over cooked noodles for the pasta, the salad bar and cheap pitchers of beer were the only redeeming amenities

I'm fortunate enough to have an amazing Sicilian great grandmother (who at 96 years old may just outlive me) so I grew up making pizza in her kitchen as a young lad. I'm sort of like a pizza savant; I'm attracted to the stuff. You know how bears can smell food for miles? That's like me, but with pizza. If you're looking for authenticity this isn't the place. What you are getting however is the finest Midwest interpretation of pizza that I'm aware of. Every ingredient is of such high quality that you almost feel guilty for attending the lunch buffet, which at $7.50 a person, is just an absurd value/quality/quantity ratio. My favorite thing about their pizza is the zesty sauce, even when contrasted with the ingredient quality. If you know pizza, you know what to look for in a great sauce. Pizza sauce should have a dark appearance that only hours of slow cooking and reduction can produce. It becomes rich with umami and natural sweetness from the caramelization that occurs. Old World does it right, and even tosses in a generous amount of black pepper to help balance out the richness and complexity of the sauce. They also add sauerkraut to their pizza on request. It's so silly good that it's likely to trigger an existential crisis the first time you try it. As with any love letter to pizza, this review could go on forever and yet never adequately quantify the life changing nature of our greatest culinary invention. For the sake of brevity I'll leave you with this: it feels good in your mouth. Consider putting some in there.

Visiting from Cali. I ordered the chicken alfredo pizza w/ added shrimp & mushrooms & a garden salad for delivery. Very very tasty and very authentic! I really enjoyed it. Great prices too

Good pizza, the sauce is what makes it for me and not stingy with the amount of toppings. The cheeses pizza I've come across as the pizza probably has 2 pounds of mozzarella on it. Also sausage is made in house, half beef and half pork and lacks the good flavor of Italian sausage.

I've eaten pizza all over the world and OWP is among the very best!! Scratch made crust, sausage and sauce. Fresh toppings and LOTS of cheese. A true destination pizza restaurant. I know people that drive many miles to eat here and when I visit out of town relatives, they request some Old World.

3 1/2 is a better rating food Great! But the Chaos of the Buffet line is Crazy! Some people are acting like the Last Slice of Pizza in the World is up there and it will flowNormal for a bit then it goes in reverse with a bunch of Confusing looks in the middle of the Buffet with the Lack of common Sense some Signs might Help just a suggestion

I'm sorry to see this place going downhill. It used to be one of the best pizza places around. Ordered a thick crust pizza for home delivery and it wasn't cooked right and the crust was half raw dough. Put it in the oven but it had already cooled down so it wouldn't bake the crust more without burning the bottom first. When it's dinner time and the crowd is hungry there is no patience in waiting for another pizza to be delivered. Not only that but with all the horror stories you hear about but happens to people's food when you complain and want your food replaced, not poking that bear! We will be on the lookout for a new pizza place.

Pretty bland pizza.... Lots of toppings covered with a salty cheese, no tents on buffet to know what each pizza is. 'choose your own adventure' pizza buffet!

Was at the Tuesday night buffet earlier tonight. Service was fantastic. My ice tea was never empty. Pizza was great. All of their pizzas have more cheese than any pizza places in town and their sausage is to die for. Had a wonderful experience there today.

Came for the pizza buffet. Some of the pizzas were really good, some were just okay and none of them sucked. I tried a lot of them. The dessert pizzas were good too. I liked my experience, our server was great, but I'm not sure I'd go back and I can't put my finger on why. Its good, really. So why am I not that excited to go back? Not sure.

Went to go visit my grandmother with my sons down in West St. Paul. Went swimming and visited, grandma decided we should order some pizza. Well that sounds great, we all love pizza! She likes Old world pizza, I wasn't familiar with it. We put in our order for 2 larges and a small cheese fry. They said about 30-40 minutes and the driver was there in less than that. Opened it up and thought yes! Thin crust with lots of cheese and high quality toppings, sausage was awesome and the sauce was very tasty. Loved it. My youngest son even loved it, he wanted pepperoni jalepano. I was wondering because he usually prefers the less cheesy more breadier pizza. It was hearty, could have gotten by with one pizza. Would most definitely try again!

I was introduced to Old World Pizza many moons ago, and I'm so thankful that it happened. Not only due to the consistent deliciousness that is their pizza offering, but the consistently good customer service, as well. Whether you are dining in, taking out, or delivery, the team at Old World Pizza is top notch. I recently discovered they deliver to West Saint Paul, which is prefect for those Friday night pizza nights when you are wrapping up a big week and you just want a break. A delicious, scrumptious pizza break.

Unfortunately I have not had their pizza, as despite comments on this page saying so, they do NOT deliver to West Saint Paul. I called them tonight and they told me South Saint Paul and Inver Grove only.

Old World Pizza is usually fantastic. But the lunch buffet was pretty bad. In all fairness, I did visit on Good Friday which might have also been during spring break. It was busy as all get out! I had to wait about 10 minutes or more just to get a table for well..... me. When I finally got a table, no one came around. In fact, I didn't even see anyone. I was pressed for time, so went up to the buffet on my own. As I was walking up, someone hollered at me asking what I'd like to drink. I answered without even knowing where the server was at first since she was several tables away in the middle of the dinning area. When I finally made eye contact with her, she smiled and looked slightly frantic. At first glance, the pizza buffet was horrible looking. Several empty trays, tons of dessert pizzas and a sad looking cheese pizza. Around the corner there's more buffet and I finally found some pizza there. You can call me crazy, but I'm not a fan of bacon and all the pizzas I found had bacon on them. I was hungry so I took some. They were just ok. I know the popular option is that bacon makes everything better, but I don't think so. Hahaha! While I was eating my bacon covered pizza, I saw a man sitting near me go up to the buffet and come back with an empty plate. He kinda watched the buffet area looking for more pizza to arrive. For some reason this made me really sad. Here's this man, presumably, on his lunch break and was sitting there waiting for food to come out. Finally, I watched him go up to the buffet, and return with pizza. So up I went. I found more dessert pizza than anything else and a pizza with Doritos on it. I was intrigued. It ended up being really tasty. I was surprised! I'm really glad that I've had Old World Pizza before this experience. This review is getting an extra star for historical reasons. Usually, this place is completely legit and delicious! After this experience, I would not recommend trying the lunch buffet, unless you have unlimited time to wait for pizza.

Mac and Cheese pizza was amazing. I only wish I would've saved more room for the gelato. The sample of the maple pecan was to die for. Service was good.

I ordered delivery for these guys about 5 years ago, and I wasn't terribly impressed then. But, I heard they moved, so I decided to give them another try. I actually went into the restaurant this time instead of doing delivery. Pizza was average at best. Nothing impressive. I don't understand why others are crazy about this place. It's not bad, but I don't think it warrants 5 stars. They had tap beer for $2.75 a glass. Two of them were crappy Miller Lite style taps, and I think the other two were Summit (including the Oktoberfest). Summit is a decent beer, and $2.75 is pretty good value. Now for the bad: Service sucked. There were two employees standing around chatting when I walked in. The sign said please seat yourself. I sat down, no one noticed me or even came over to the area I was sitting in (even though there were other patrons there). After 5 mins, I went up to get my own menus, an employee saw me. After another 5 mins, someone was over in the area I was in and asked me if I had been helped. I said no. A couple of minutes later, a server came over. So 12 mins from sitting down to actually being acknowledged by a server. I ordered 2 pizzas. One personal pizza for my son and one for me. They took 25 mins to come out. I'm glad I didn't bring my other kid and my wife. 25 mins is not kid friendly when you have toddlers that are easily bored, there would have been a meltdown. Wait staff seemed generally inattentive to others in the place. Also, the atmosphere sucked. The place is filled with garish CFL bulbs cranked up to maximum brightness. I felt like I was in some sort of interrogation room. It's not warm and inviting, the light makes it a sterile depressing environment. The light put off by CFL's is "icky." There's actually something called CRI which is a rating of how good the color rendering is under light, and CFLs are all consistently low. You cannot use CFL's to create a warm environment. There's NO music at all, just the whispered voices of elderly people all around you. It's like everyone is trying to be quiet so no one else can overhear their conversation. It's REALLY disconcerting. The atmosphere was actually worse than the service. I couldn't wait to get out of there. My suggestions for them: - Get rid of the CFLs, lower the main lights by 50-60%, and get some italian cafe music playing. For the lights over the table, put in reproduction carbon filament bulbs and lower the brightness about 75% from what is in there. The place is decorated like an old italian restaurant, but the lighting completely ruins it. - If it truly takes 25 mins to cook a pizza, then provide something like crayons and silly pictures for the kids to color. I was here for 37 minutes from when I sat down to when I got my food. - Don't use the "please seat yourself" sign. Have a hostess that brings you menus and notifies the server that you were just seated. Assign servers to each area and make sure they are attentive. This restaurant is too big to seat yourself. I won't be back.
